Engineering Summer
Camp
Montgomery County Community College
The camp provides an unique avenue for motivated
students to explore exciting new career
opportunities. Participants have a chance to explore
the possibilities of a career in an advanced
technology while experiencing life on a college
campus. Participants take specially designed courses
taught by faculty that span the range of the fields
of engineering. If accepted, this program has no
cost to participants outside of transportation to
and from the College. Women and other
underrepresented groups in the fields of science and
technology are highly encouraged to apply.
The camp will be held during
the week of June 18th. The camp hours will be from
8:30am –
3:30pm, Monday through Thursday and 8:30am – 12:30pm
on Friday. The camp will consist of interactive
classroom lectures and laboratory hands-on
activities led by MCCC faculty. Each camp will have
eight learning sessions covering a variety of
related topics. The students will also participate
in a group project and present their project on the
last day of camp. Lunch and a mid-morning snack will
be provided daily to all participants.

April 30th!

Engineering Academy Earns
National Certification
Because
the Project Lead The Way program offered through the
Engineering Academy at North Penn High School has been
reviewed and certified by a PLTW National Affiliate
College or University, students now have an opportunity
to receive college credit and/or recognition from
participating colleges and universities throughout the
country.

Engineering Academy
Nanotechnology Program in Design Stage:
Plans are underway for
the piloting of a nanotechnology research program to
begin next school year. Students in the
Engineering Design and Development course, the capstone
course for the Engineering Academy, will explore
nanotechnology in the materials science field as a
method of gaining valuable research skills at the high
school level.
